Aspec Engineering Completes Design of Loading Chute Improvements to Newcastle Shiploaders

The loading chute of a shiploader is the most important and prominent chute at a bulk material handling terminal. Its proper function is vital to achieving a high level of environmental integrity, the efficient loading of ships and the minimization of shiploader down-time. Aspec Engineering has worked with Port Waratah to improve Shiploader 07.08’s loading chute by correcting the chute’s flow path to reduce abnormal vibrations, by implementing design changes that limit chute wear and by designing a modified chute to improve spillage and dust retention.
