Seismic Activity in NSW’s Hunter Valley Region

Earthquake-resilient infrastructure is critical in mining operations, particularly in seismically active regions. This article examines the impact of recent earthquakes on a mine in New South Wales’s Upper Hunter region. Following a magnitude 4.5 event in September 2024, ASPEC Engineering conducted structural assessments, finding no critical damage but identifying safety concerns in non-structural elements.
